Who We Are

A group of scientists based at icipe Mbita field station, under the Habitat Management Programme, are collaborating with Rothamsted Research, UK, National Agricultural Research and Extension Systems. Since 1993 we have been undertaking research and the development of Push-Pull technology to help ensure food security, protect the environment, conserve and make better use of natural resources. This is aimed at improving the food security, health and the overall livelihoods of smallholder farmers’ households across Africa through control and elimination of farming constrains of Striga weed, stemborers and improving soil fertility.

Our Goal
“To end hunger and poverty for 10 million people by extending Push-Pull technology to 1 million households in sub-Saharan Africa by 2030”, Zeyaur Khan, Coordinator, Push-Pull Programme
